Expanded metal products are designated by a series of numbers which identify any given style. The first number designates nominal pitch short way of the design SWD. The second number is use in conjunction with the first number and may specify the gauge of metal, weight per 100 square feet, or may have some significance. Therefore, the word "gauge" should never be added to the style designation.

Here is How to Order

When ordering Expanded Metals give complete style specifications to avoid possible error. Include style, Raised or Flattened, type of metal and sheet dimensions. The SWD dimension is always listed before the LWD.

Example: A C1/4-18R 4ft by 8ft

This would convey to your supplier that you wanted 1/4" SWD of 20 gauge carbon steel Raised 4ft SWD by 8ft LWD

Example: B C1/4-18F 8ft by 4ft

This would convey to your supplier that you wanted 1/4" SWD of 20 gauge carbon steel Flattened 8ft SWD by 4ft LWD

Example: A A1/2-0.051R 4ft by 8ft

This would convey to your supply that you wanted 1/2" SWD of 0.051 gauge aluminum Raised 4ft SWD by 8ft LWD

Example: B A1/2-0.051F 8ft by 4ft

This would convey to your supply that you wanted 1/2" SWD of 0.051 gauge aluminum Flattened 8ft SWD by 4ft LWD
